4 Self-Care Tips For Your Job Search

I’ve been on the job searching merry-go-round and hit the wall, so I know how you feel. I know what it is like to have to apply for multiple short-term contracts just to stay employed. Can you imagine having to do this throughout your career? Every couple of months, you’ve got to fight and apply for another contract. More resumes, more cover letters, more interviews, and it’s never-ending. This scenario is very stressful.

How do you cope with this kind of stress? My answer is by practising self-care, and here are four suggestions you can put in place to give you some very needed time out from your job search. This way, I hope, you will avoid hitting the wall.

Now! Why have I gone to the trouble of talking about looking after yourself? You need strength and stamina to get to the end of a successful job search – physically and emotionally.

When you are being interviewed for your “dream” job, you will make a strong impression on the employer because you have looked after yourself. This will increase your odds of being the candidate offered the job, which is the goal of all job seekers.
