The Career Consultants at Resumes for Results guide clients about how to put a successful interview strategy into action, offering practical help with preparing for a job interview. Interview preparation can benefit first-time jobseekers who have not experienced a formal interview situation before. People returning to work after career breaks or those looking to apply for higher roles might be looking to refresh their skills in this area.

Our process involves a personalised consultation where we assist you in preparing for a job interview. Our team will provide you with a mock interview session tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.

A ninety-minute remote session delivered via MS Teams or Zoom is charged at $240 GST Exclusive for existing Clients and $300 GST Exclusive for new Clients. This fee takes into account the need for the Career Consultant to research the position, prepare questions and set up the video conferencing space on the day.

All Clients who book this service must pay the full fee prior to this session and give their Career Consultant enough notice (at least 24 hours) so they can prepare appropriate questions linked to the role the Client wishes to apply for. The job link and any relevant documents will need to be sent to the Career Consultant for this to happen.

In the event of a short timeframe before the real interview, all care will be taken to accommodate a preparation session for existing Clients if possible.

Several useful handouts are emailed to Clients before these remote sessions are held so the Client can prepare some question responses before the day.

The Remote Interview Preparation Session is made up of three equal parts across the ninety-minute session:

•  An introductory discussion that involves the Client analysing their previous interview experiences, targeting possible areas of improvement to work on during the session, while the Career Consultant will offer some general interview hints for both remote and in-person situations.

• The Mock Interview section is where the Career Consultant roleplays being an interviewer and asks the questions they have prepared. The Client may choose to have this part of the session recorded as a video file for later reference. The notes taken by the Career Consultant can also be part of the feedback given after the session is completed.

• The final thirty-minute review section of the preparation session is critical for the Client to assess their own performance during the Mock Interview, and for the Career Consultant to give honest and constructive advice including possible performance improvements. The entire process aims to help the Client to be as comfortable with any interview process moving forward, being more confident in their ability to respond to a range of questions under a variety of interview conditions, both in-person and remotely.
