Professional Résumés & CVs

The quality of your résumé could well mean the difference between a good job, an ordinary job, or worst of all, no job! Your résumé is your first opportunity to make an impression and we produce high impact job search documents designed primarily to achieve two objectives:

1. to get our clients through the door for an interview, and
2. a job offer on the terms they expect and deserve.

Developing your own résumé and job search documents can be a daunting task. From our experience, not many people are capable of producing their own search documents effectively. Even those who are highly skilled in writing and successful in their career often have difficulty in promoting themselves.

The production of your job search documents should be a critical aspect of your career development and is not something to take lightly. Contact a Consultant

Application Letters

We write powerful cover letters for job applications, general enquiries, follow-up and job search campaigns. We believe that although the primary focus needs to be on the development of your résumé document, your supporting letters need to be well constructed and compelling to entice the reader to consider your résumé.

Your letters need to be professional yet interesting and easy to read ... unfortunately many jobseekers make the mistake of not giving enough thought to their cover letters. Contact a Consultant

Selection Criteria Responses

Jobs within all tiers of government, community organisations and some larger employer groups require this form of application.

These can be quite a challenge for jobseekers, particularly those trying to enter the public sector for the first time and who do not really understand the process. When required to address a set of selection criteria, you cannot rely entirely on your résumé. Selection panels determine interview short-listings on the quality of responses to selection criteria. It is your responsibility to demonstrate your strengths and experience relevant to the role through the selection criteria response.

For government jobs in particular, many applicants are not short-listed for interviewing, not because they are unsuitable for the role, but often because they have not addressed the selection criteria properly. Contact a Consultant

Personal & Business Profiles

'Profile' has become the  preferred term for individuals in self-employment or business. Our approach is similar to that of résumé development, however the key is to understand the purpose for which it has to be written. For example, profiles can be very valuable documents to accompany tender and contract submissions as well as business proposals.

We have assisted small business owners to increase their turnover with business profiles and promotional material. We understand business, and when we work with clients to develop their profiles we spend time to gain a solid understanding of their business objectives and  tailor the profiles accordingly. Career Coaching

Not everyone finds their true vocation first up. In fact the majority of workers will go through a number of occupations in their work-life, either by design, for reasons beyond their control or out of financial necessity.

Another interesting point is that the majority of workers would rather be doing something else. So if you're in that situation or simply feel you are ready for a change, contact us to see how we can help you with the next step. Contact a Consultant

Interview Coaching

Interviews can be harrowing experiences for some jobseekers - even seasoned workers can come unstuck at interviews, particularly those who have not had to apply for a job for some time. Managers who have hired and fired people over a long period can themselves feel quite uncomfortable sitting on the other side of the desk.

Whether you are applying for your first job, a new job or re-entering the workforce, an interview coaching session could boost your confidence and increase your chances of success. Even if you feel that you understand the principles of proper interview behaviour and protocol, it may only be a minor detail or enhancement to your presentation that sways the decision in your favour.
